Our programs and initiatives are designed to support the growth of young entrepreneurs, SMEs, and innovative initiatives and ideas with knowledge sharing resources for the development of businesses in Africa.

Recognitions and Awards

SMEGA: Our flagship local business empowerment project is the SME Ghana Awards. A national Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Award Scheme instituted to recognize the numerous achievements of SMEs and individuals of entrepreneurial excellence in Ghana and across Africa.

Capacity Building

Micro Step-Up Program: The Micro Step-Up Program is one of SME GrowAfrica’s continuous development initiatives for micro enterprises and young entrepreneurs. The Program aims to provide simplified early-stage training assistance for micro enterprises and young entrepreneurs to gain new skillset for income generation and run a successful and a sustainable enterprise.

The Program also designed to supplement the latest business ideas in the start-up ecosystem by focusing on new and upcoming market segments and creativity in doing business particularly for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Grow Enterprise Program (GrowEP): Our flagship Grow Enterprise Program (GrowEP) is an initiatives under the Entrepreneur Business Development Program design by SME GrowAfrica specifically to upgrade the knowledge and skills of micro and small enterprises for transformation into small and medium businesses respectively. GrowEP will be implemented in partnership with various SME stakeholders.

The Objective of GrowEP is one that employs a hand-holding approach which includes elements of business coaching and training, business rating and certification, as well as business facilitation to guide micro and small enterprises to take their business activities to the next level.

Some module in offering under the GrowEP for participants includes:

  • Legal aspects in business and best business practices
  • Financial management and alternative financing
  • Digitalisation
  • Marketing and Promotions
  • Packaging, labeling and Branding
  • Contract management
  • Standardizations
  • Corporate governance
  • Other relevant module

Micro-SME Business Accelerator Program (M-SME-BAP): The SME Business Accelerator Program (SME-BAP) is an integrated assistance program designed with the aimed to enhance the competencies of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through business advisory services and linked to investments and financial partners.

The program with it partners will supports and provide a wide range of skill building initiatives to assist SMEs to grow and expand their businesses locally and globally.

SME-BAP will be on application and businesses or participants must undertake the Micro-SME Competitiveness Rating for Enhancement (M-SCORE) program

Fellowship program

Working4Growth – W4G: Working 4 Growth is an Enterprise Development Program for Women Entrepreneurs (EDP-WE) within the SMEs space, W4G is designed to expand the scope of women’s overall performance in business with the core focus on Growth. W4G aims at improving women in SME businesses who have the ambition to transform their small business into thriving enterprises.

The program places emphasizes on small numbers of committed participants at each cycle of the project who have a clear ambition for growth, and who value the opportunity and will commit to attending all the session till the project cycle ends.

Access to Market

Trade Promotion – Kwahu Dwaso: The “Trade Show” is designed to bring MSMEs across countries together with the aim of increasing local trading among businesses and the general public to improve livelihoods

SME Go E-Commerce, Digital and Global Program: The SMEs Go E-Commerce Digital and Global Program is an initiative formulated to assist and get MSME to focus on using e-commerce and other social platform to push global sales and expand their market.

The programme is targeted at export-ready companies, as well as existing exporting companies that have the potential to explore new markets.
